Answer

For this year, 2026:

• Diwali / Mahavir Nirvan Kalyanak: Sunday, 8 November 2026
• Jain New Year: commonly observed on the day after Diwali, but some 2026 Jain/Gujarati calendars list the New Year observance as Tuesday, 10 November 2026 due to tithi timing.

Explanation

In Jain Dharma, Diwali is especially sacred because it marks the Nirvan Kalyanak of Bhagwan Mahavir Swami.

The Jain New Year begins after Mahavir Bhagwan’s Nirvan and is connected with the start of the Vir Nirvan Samvat.

Takeaway

Please follow your local Jain Sangh or temple calendar, because Jain festival dates can vary by location and tithi calculation.
