How to come out of below karmas
Answer
In Jain Dharma, karmas are removed mainly through two processes:
- Saṁvara — stopping new karma from coming in
- Nirjarā — shedding already-bound karma
To come out of karmas, one should practice right faith, right knowledge, right conduct, repentance, forgiveness, self-discipline, meditation, and tapasya.
Explanation
Jainism teaches that karma is not just a belief, but a subtle matter attached to the soul because of passions and actions. The main causes of karmic bondage are:
- Krodh — anger
- Mān — ego/pride
- Māyā — deceit
- Lobh — greed
- Rāg — attachment
- Dveṣ — hatred/aversion
To reduce and remove karmas, Jain Dharma gives practical methods:
- Samyak Darshan — developing right faith in the soul, karma, and path of liberation
- Samyak Jñān — understanding truth through Jain teachings
- Samyak Chāritra — living with discipline and non-violence
- Pratikraman — repenting for mistakes and purifying thoughts, words, and actions
- Kṣamāpanā — asking forgiveness and forgiving others
- Tapasya — austerities such as fasting, restraint, and control of desires
- Sāmāyik — remaining in equanimity for a fixed time
- Svādhyāy — study of Jain scriptures and reflection
- Dhyān — meditation on the pure nature of the soul
- Ahimsa — reducing harm in thought, speech, and action
Spiritual Understanding
Karma becomes strong when the soul is influenced by passions. When we reduce anger, ego, deceit, greed, attachment, and hatred, karmic bondage becomes weaker.
External actions matter, but inner intention matters deeply. Even a simple act done with humility and compassion helps purify the soul, while an act done with pride or anger creates bondage.
Jain Dharma does not teach that karma disappears by prayer alone. Prayer, mantra, temple worship, and devotion are helpful when they create inner purity, humility, discipline, and awareness.
Takeaway
To come out of karma, live with:
- Less anger
- Less ego
- Less greed
- More forgiveness
- More awareness
- More self-control
- More devotion to the soul’s purity
In simple words: stop new karma through right conduct, and shed old karma through repentance, tapasya, meditation, and equanimity.
