Which tirthankar got tirthankar naam pad by giving gochri
In Jain tradition, Shri Mallinath Bhagwan, the 19th Tirthankara, received the Tirthankar Naam-karma (destiny to become a Tirthankara) by giving gochari (alms) to a group of monks.
Story in brief: In a previous birth, Mallinath Bhagwan was a princess (according to the Shwetambar tradition; a prince according to Digambar tradition). Once, a group of monks came to her for alms. She offered them pure and suitable food (gochari) with great devotion and respect. This act of supreme compassion and generosity, along with her other virtues and austerities, led her to acquire the Tirthankar Naam-karma.
In Jainism, many Tirthankaras have stories where giving gochari (alms) to monks or ascetics is a meritorious deed that contributes to earning the Tirthankar destiny, but Mallinath Bhagwan is especially noted for this in the traditional narratives.
