Ratnatrayee - pathway to moksh
Answer
In Jain Dharma, Ratnatrayee means the Three Jewels — the essential path to Moksha.
They are:
- Samyak Darshan — Right Faith / Right Vision
- Samyak Jnan — Right Knowledge
- Samyak Charitra — Right Conduct
Together, these three form the true path of liberation.
Explanation
Jain Dharma teaches that the soul is naturally pure, full of infinite knowledge, perception, bliss, and energy. But due to karma, the soul remains bound in the cycle of birth and death.
To become free from karma, one must follow Ratnatrayee:
- Samyak Darshan means having true faith in the reality of soul, karma, Tirthankars, Dharma, and Moksha.
- Samyak Jnan means understanding reality correctly — knowing the difference between soul and non-soul, bondage and liberation, right and wrong.
- Samyak Charitra means living according to that right faith and right knowledge through self-control, non-violence, truth, purity, detachment, and discipline.
These three are not separate paths. They support one another. Right faith gives direction, right knowledge gives clarity, and right conduct purifies the soul.
Spiritual Understanding
Ratnatrayee is called the pathway to Moksha because liberation cannot be attained by belief alone, knowledge alone, or action alone.
- Faith without knowledge may become blind belief.
- Knowledge without conduct remains only intellectual.
- Conduct without right vision may not lead to liberation.
When the soul develops right faith, understands truth correctly, and practices pure conduct, karmic bondage gradually stops and existing karmas are shed.
This leads the soul toward complete purity and ultimately Moksha.
Takeaway
Ratnatrayee is the heart of the Jain path:
See rightly, know rightly, and live rightly.
Through these Three Jewels, the soul progresses from bondage toward liberation.
