In Jainism, the Agams (also spelled Āgamas) are a collection of canonical scriptures that contain the teachings of Lord Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara. These teachings were originally delivered orally by Lord Mahavira and were compiled by his chief disciples, known as Ganadharas. The first and most prominent Ganadhara was Indrabhuti Gautam (also known as Gautam Swami). The Agams were memorized and passed down through generations of Jain monks before being compiled in written form several centuries later.

So, the teachings in the Agams are attributed to Lord Mahavira, but the actual compilation and organization of the Agams were done by his Ganadharas and later Jain Acharyas.
