Can we smoke in paryushan
In Jainism, Paryushan is a period of intense spiritual practice, self-discipline, and purification. Smoking is generally discouraged in Jainism, as it involves harm to oneself and others, and may also involve violence towards tiny living beings (nigodas), which goes against the principle of ahimsa (non-violence).
During Paryushan, Jains are expected to strictly observe vows of self-control, purity, and non-violence. Activities that harm the body, mind, or other living beings—including smoking—are to be avoided. Smoking also distracts from spiritual practices and can be considered a form of indulgence, which goes against the spirit of Paryushan.
Therefore, according to Jain principles and especially during Paryushan, one should not smoke.
