Is tivihar compulsory for pratikraman
In Jainism, Tivihar (the practice of meditating on the three jewels: Samyak Darshan - right faith, Samyak Gyan - right knowledge, and Samyak Charitra - right conduct) is considered essential during Pratikraman.
Pratikraman is a ritual of repentance where one reflects on and seeks forgiveness for the mistakes (papa) committed. The practice of Tivihar helps the devotee purify the mind and deepen the spiritual experience during Pratikraman.
While the detailed procedures may vary slightly between Shwetambar and Digambar traditions, the essence remains the same: focusing on the three jewels is integral to sincere Pratikraman. Thus, Tivihar is indeed a compulsory and important part of Pratikraman for proper spiritual progress.
