Shankheshwar Parshwanath is one of the most revered forms of Lord Parshwanath, the 23rd Tirthankara in Jainism. The famous Shankheshwar Parshwanath Jain Temple is located in Shankheshwar village, Patan district, Gujarat, and is considered a highly sacred pilgrimage site (tirth) for Jains, especially those of the Śvētāmbara sect.

Aradhana (Worship/Spiritual Practice) of Shankheshwar Parshwanath:

    1. Puja and Rituals:

Devotees perform daily puja (worship) of Shankheshwar Parshwanath, which generally includes abhishek (ritual bath), offering flowers, rice, coconut, and special prayers. The main mantra chanted is "Om Rhim Shreem Kleem Aim Shankheshwar Parshwanathaya Namah."

    1. Aarti and Bhakti:

Aarti (devotional songs) is sung in praise of Shankheshwar Parshwanath. Many devotees recite stavan, stuti, and bhajans dedicated to the Tirthankara.

    1. Navkar Mantra:

The Navkar Mantra, the most fundamental Jain prayer, is recited, seeking blessings and spiritual advancement.

    1. Special Pujas and Vidhis:

On auspicious days like Mahavir Jayanti, Paryushan, and the 10th day of the Jain calendar month (Dasami), special pujas such as “Shri Parshwanath Panch Kalyanak Puja” or “Shankheshwar Parshwanath Aradhana” are performed. Devotees often perform the “Shree Parshwanath Bhakti” and “Shankheshwar Parshwanath 108 Naavli Mala.”

    1. Pilgrimage (Yatra):

Visiting the Shankheshwar Tirth and performing darshan is considered highly meritorious. Many devotees observe vows (vratas) such as Ayambil (eating boiled food once a day without spices and salt) during their pilgrimage.

    1. Vows (Vrata) and Tapasya:

Devotees may observe fasts (upvas), Ayambil, or other forms of tapasya (austerities) in the name of Shankheshwar Parshwanath for spiritual purification and fulfillment of wishes.

    1. Reciting Shankheshwar Parshwanath Stotra:

Many Jains recite specific stotras (hymns) such as the “Shankheshwar Parshwanath Stotra” and “Shankheshwar Parshwanath Chalisa” for blessings and spiritual upliftment.

Spiritual Significance: Worshipping Shankheshwar Parshwanath is believed to remove obstacles, grant peace, and help devotees progress on the path of liberation (moksha). Devotees seek his blessings for protection, spiritual growth, and fulfillment of righteous desires.
