Before sunset which time choviyar done in paryushan
In Jain practice, during Paryushan the last meal (Chauvihar) should be completed before sunset.
- Ideal timing: finish eating at least 48 minutes (1 muhurt) before local sunset.
- Minimum maryada: do not eat once the sun sets.
Tradition-wise:
- Shvetambar: Chauvihar means no food and no water after sunset. Many follow finishing bhojan 48 minutes before sunset; boiled water is taken only before sunset.
- Digambar: Bhojan is to be completed in daylight, preferably 48 minutes before sunset; after sunset, even water is avoided. Many observe stricter gaps (2–3 hours) during Paryushan/Dashlakshan.
Please use your city’s daily sunset time to set the exact clock time.
