    Abhavay aatma in jainisam

You seem to mean “Abhavya Ātmā” in Jainism.

    Meaning

    • Abhavya ātmā = the soul that will never attain liberation (moksha). It lacks the inner capacity (bhavyatva) to generate true Right Faith (samyag-darshan), so moksha never occurs for it.

    Key points

    • Two classes of souls are spoken of:
    1) Bhavya: capable of moksha. 2) Abhavya: incapable of moksha.
    • An abhavya soul may be born in any realm (heaven, human, animal, hell) and may do austerities or good deeds, but it will never attain true Right Faith, Right Knowledge, and Right Conduct together; therefore liberation does not arise.
    • The chief obstruction is extremely intense wrong-belief and passions (anantānubandhi mohanīya karma) that are never destroyed; hence samyag-darshan never dawns.
    • Only a Kevalī (omniscient one) truly knows who is bhavya or abhavya. Ordinary people should not label anyone as abhavya.
    • Practical teaching: Always live as if you are bhavya—cultivate Right Faith, non-violence, restraint, forgiveness, and reduce the four passions (anger, pride, deceit, greed), especially their most intense forms.

    Digambar and Śvetāmbara notes

    • Both traditions accept the distinction of bhavya and abhavya souls.
    • Both agree that an abhavya soul never attains samyag-darshan and thus never moksha.
    • In practice, both traditions advise seekers to assume bhavyatva and strive for purification, since identifying abhavyatva is only in the omniscient’s knowledge.

    Essence

    • Bhavya = capable of moksha; Abhavya = not capable of moksha.
    • Do not worry about “who is abhavya.” Focus on removing deluding karma and strengthening Right Faith and conduct—this is the Jain path.
