waht is nigod
In Jainism, "nigod" refers to a type of microscopic, lowest form of life. Nigods are considered to be the simplest and most undeveloped living beings, possessing only one sense (touch). They are believed to exist in vast numbers and have minimal individual consciousness.
Nigods are said to live in clusters and have a very short lifespan. According to Jain teachings, the souls residing in nigod forms have not yet begun their spiritual journey towards liberation (moksha). They are trapped in this primitive state due to their accumulated karmas, and only rarely does a soul from the nigod stage get a chance to evolve into higher forms of life.
The concept of nigod highlights the Jain emphasis on the vast diversity of life forms and the doctrine of ahimsa (non-violence), as even the tiniest forms of life are considered worthy of respect and non-harm.
