Kaal for Khakra
If by “Kaal for Khakhra” you mean the allowed time (validity) to eat Khakhra according to Jain aahar‑maryada:
- For Shravak/Shravika: The ideal rule is to eat Khakhra only on the same day it is prepared, and before sunset. Once it has stayed overnight, it becomes paryushit (stale by time) and should be avoided.
- During Paryushan/Chaturmas or under stricter vows: Follow the stricter maryada—no paryushit foods at all; so previous‑day Khakhra should not be taken.
- For Sadhus/Sadhvijis: They do not store or carry such items; food is accepted and consumed the same day, in daylight only.
Note on traditions:
- Both Shwetambar and Digambar traditions uphold avoiding paryushit (overnight) food. Household relaxations can vary locally, but the maryada above is the standard.
Essence: Khakhra is a cooked grain item. Keep it within the same day and daylight; avoid if it has crossed the night.
