When is pajushan
“Paryushan” (Śvetāmbara; 8 days) and “Das‑Lakshan” (Digambara; 10 days) fall every year in the bright fortnight of Bhādrapada. Dates vary slightly by local lunar calendar.
For 2025 (this year):
- Śvetāmbara Paryushan: many calendars show Wednesday 20 August 2025 to Wednesday 27 August 2025, with Samvatsari on 27 August. ( timesofindia.indiatimes.com, cemca.org.in)
- In some sanghs, it is observed Thursday 21 August 2025 to Thursday 28 August 2025, with Samvatsari on 28 August. ( indiacelebrating.com, instaastro.com)
- Digambara Das‑Lakshan: begins the day after Śvetāmbara Samvatsari. So either Thursday 28 August to Saturday 6 September 2025, or Friday 29 August to Sunday 7 September 2025, depending on your local observance. ( indiacelebrating.com, latestly.com)
