    Nakoda parshwanath story

    one year ago 296

Nakoda Parshwanath is a highly revered Jain Tirthankara idol and pilgrimage site, located in Nakoda, Rajasthan, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Parshwanath, the 23rd Tirthankara, and is famous for its miraculous powers and the benevolent presence of Nakoda Bhairavji.

    The Story of Nakoda Parshwanath:

According to Jain tradition and local belief, the original idol of Lord Parshwanath housed at Nakoda was installed by Acharya Sthulibhadra, a revered Jain monk, around the 3rd century BCE. The idol was originally worshipped in a village called Nakrasar. Due to repeated attacks and the threat of destruction, the idol was shifted for safety multiple times by Jain devotees.

Eventually, Acharya Vijay Himachal Suri discovered the idol through divine intuition (avadhi jnana) and installed it at the present location, Nakoda, where a grand temple was constructed. It is believed by devotees that Lord Parshwanath’s idol at Nakoda possesses miraculous powers and fulfills the wishes of sincere pilgrims, irrespective of their religion or background.

Significance of Nakoda Bhairavji: A unique feature of the Nakoda Parshwanath temple is the presence of Nakoda Bhairavji, a guardian deity (Kshetrapal) associated with the temple. Jain tradition holds that Bhairavji protects the pilgrimage site and its devotees. Offerings to Nakoda Bhairavji, especially in the form of "choli" (a type of cloth), are a common practice among pilgrims.

Miracles and Faith: Numerous stories are recounted by devotees about their wishes and prayers being fulfilled after visiting Nakoda Parshwanath and Bhairavji. The temple is thus seen as a place of hope, faith, and divine intervention.

Conclusion: Nakoda Parshwanath is more than just a temple; it is a spiritual center for millions of Jains and non-Jains alike, symbolizing faith, miracles, and the enduring power of Lord Parshwanath’s teachings. The temple continues to attract pilgrims from all over India and the world, maintaining its status as a significant Jain tirth (pilgrimage center).
