can I go for a movie tommorow?
Tomorrow is August 23, 2025.
From a Jain point of view, a lay follower (shravak/shravika) may watch a movie if it does not disturb vows or increase passions. Use these simple checks before you decide:
- Ahimsa: Avoid movies that glorify violence, cruelty, or intense harm to any living being.
- Kashayas: If it stirs anger, pride, deceit, or greed, skip it.
- Vows and discipline: Do not let it break your daily maryada—samayik/pratikraman, fasting, daylight‑eating rules, or brahmacharya boundaries.
- Aparigraha: Keep it simple—avoid luxury/overindulgence; choose a modest showtime and avoid late night outings.
- Paryushan/Das‑Lakshan time: If you are observing these days, prioritize sadhana and avoid entertainment.
If you still choose to go, pick clean, non‑violent content, keep mindfulness, and do pratikraman in the evening. A satsang, path, or a devotional/documentary alternative is even better for spiritual progress.
