In Jain universal history, there are nine Vasudev (also called Narayan) in every half-cycle of time. In the present avasarpini, their names are:

1) Triprishtha 2) Dviprishtha 3) Svayambhu 4) Purushottama 5) Purushasimha 6) Purushapundarika 7) Purushadatta (Datta) 8) Lakshmana (also called Narayana in some texts) 9) Krishna

Notes:

• Each Vasudev appears alongside a corresponding Baladeva (elder half‑brother) and a Prati‑Vasudeva (adversary).
• Digambar and Shvetambar traditions agree on the sequence and largely on the names; a few have variant spellings or alternatives (e.g., Lakshmana/Narayana).
