    List of coming 24 thirthankar

    12 months ago 472

In Jain Dharma, every half time-cycle (Avasarpini and Utsarpini) has 24 Tirthankaras. In our current Avasarpini, all 24 have already appeared; there will be no new Tirthankara in this era. The “coming 24 Tirthankaras” belong to the next Utsarpini; their specific names are not given in commonly accepted scriptures. For practical study, we revere the 24 of this current cycle:

    1. Adinath (Rishabhdev)
    2. Ajitnath
    3. Sambhavnath
    4. Abhinandannath
    5. Sumatinath
    6. Padmaprabhu
    7. Suparshvanath
    8. Chandraprabhu
    9. Pushpadant (Suvidhinath)
    10. Sheetalnath
    11. Shreyansnath
    12. Vasupujya
    13. Vimalnath
    14. Anantnath
    15. Dharmanath
    16. Shantinath
    17. Kunthunath
    18. Aranath
    19. Mallinath
    20. Munisuvratnath
    21. Naminath
    22. Neminath (Arishtanemi)
    23. Parshvanath
    24. Mahavir (Vardhaman)

    Notes

    • Most of these Tirthankaras attained moksha from Sammed Shikharji; Bhagwan Mahavir attained moksha from Pawapuri.
    • Digambar and Shvetambar traditions differ on the historical gender of Bhagwan Mallinath (Digambar: male; Shvetambar: female). The spiritual status is equally revered.
