• Shwetambar tradition: This day falls during Paryushan (day 5 for most communities). Many Shwetambar sanghs observe Mahavir Janma Vanchan/Swapna Darshan on the 5th day, with Kalpa Sutra readings and remembrance of Mata Trishalā’s fourteen auspicious dreams.
• Digambar tradition: Das Lakshan Parva (their Paryushan) generally starts after Shwetambar Samvatsari, so 25 August is usually before the start of Das Lakshan.
