Should I stop pooja 7 days before periods
Short answer: No. In Jain tradition there is no requirement to stop pooja 7 days before menstruation.
How Jain practice generally guides:
- During menstruation: avoid dravya‑puja (touching/ bathing the idol, temple entry, handling scriptures and puja items). Do bhav‑bhakti: recite Navkar Mantra, stavan, japa, prarthna, dhyan, and listen to svadhyaya.
- After it ends: take a full bath and resume regular puja.
Key point: Restrictions apply only during actual menstruation days, not before it begins. If cycles are irregular, simply observe restraint on the days of actual flow. Always keep the spirit of ahimsa, shauch (cleanliness), and inner devotion foremost.
