    I choose Bhagwan Mahavira.

Note: In Jain Dharma, all 24 Tirthankars are equal in purity, omniscience, and liberation. My choice is simply a personal focus for learning; it does not mean superiority.

Distinctive qualities of Bhagwan Mahavira (in the worldly/historical sense):

    • 24th Tirthankar of the present time-cycle; his nirvana on Diwali made that day spiritually significant for Jains.
    • Taught the five great vows with exceptional clarity: ahimsa, satya, asteya, brahmacharya, aparigraha.
    • Spoke in Ardhamāgadhī so the common people could understand, not just scholars.
    • Organized a fourfold sangh: sādhus, sādhvīs, shrāvaks, and shrāvikās; strengthened Jain practice for all.
    • Emphasized anekāntavād (many-sidedness) and syādvād (qualified viewpoints) in daily conduct.
    • Lived 12½ years of severe tapas and attained keval-jñān; then gave about 30 years of deshnā guiding countless beings.
    • Strong stand against violence and empty ritual; showed that inner conduct and compassion are central.
    • His life and teachings are preserved widely, making his path easy to access for seekers today.
    • Lion emblem; often remembered for fearlessness with total equanimity (e.g., enduring hardships without aversion).
