Jain scriptures state that Lord Neminath lived many thousands of years ago. Specifically, traditional Jain texts such as the Kalpasutra and Harivamsa Purana mention that Neminath was born 84,000 years before the birth of Lord Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara. Mahavira is historically dated to have lived around 599–527 BCE.
