Kalpa Sutra is not a Hindu text. It is a revered Jain scripture, especially in the Shwetambar tradition.

• A Jain Agam traditionally attributed to Acharya Bhadrabahu.

Sect notes

• Shwetambar: Kalpa Sutra is canonical and central to Paryushan readings.
• Digambar: Do not treat Kalpa Sutra as canonical; they revere Tirthankar lives through other texts and focus in Das Lakshan on the ten supreme virtues. The spiritual ideals are shared, but scriptures differ.

To avoid confusion: In Hindu literature, “Kalpa-sutras” belong to the Vedanga tradition and are different works altogether. The Jain Kalpa Sutra is a distinct scripture of Jain Dharma.
