stavan for tapasvi
Here is a simple Jain stavan (hymn) to honor a tapasvi (one who is doing tapas/fasting). It is devotional, respectful, and can be sung during pratikraman day, parna, samayik, or any tapas-arpan moment.
Title: Tapasvi Vandana
- Jai ho tapasvi prabhu ke, shuddh chaitanya jyot,
- Vairāgya ke deepak se, moh-andhkaar hare,
- Deh-ki bhookh sahakar, karmo ke bandh chhute,
- Ādar se vandan ham, pāvitra tapas-dhārī,
- Arihant-Siddh āśish de, guru-dharma sahāy,
- Michchhāmi Dukkadam kahen, mṛdu-vāni har kshan,
Meaning (arth) in simple words:
- We bow to the tapasvi whose inner soul-light shines by conquering passions.
- With dispassion and vows like upvās and ayambil, the path of the soul opens.
- By patiently bearing hunger and keeping pure thoughts, karmic bonds loosen.
- We respectfully salute the purity of tapas and offer our devotion.
- May Arihant, Siddha, and Guru’s grace help in self-restraint and inner victory.
- Let forgiveness and softness of speech remain; we say “Michchhāmi Dukkadam.”
How to use
- Sing slowly in a soft tune after Navkar Mantra or before/after parna.
- You may add “Namo Arihantanam…” as mangalacharan before starting, if you wish.
- Suitable during Paryushan, Ayambil Oli, Varsitap/Upvas milestones, or samayik.
Note
- This is a devotional stavan (not a canonical sutra). Its bhav is aligned with Jain dharma: honoring tapas, saiyam, kshamā, and the Panch Parmeshthi.
