Parekh family kul devi
In Jain families, “Kuldevi” is decided by each lineage (gotra) and ancestral town. There is no single, universal Kuldevi for all Parekh families. Among Gujarati Shwetambar Jains with the Parekh surname, different branches traditionally revere one of the Jain Shasan‑Devis such as:
- Padmavati (associated with Bhagwan Parshvanath)
- Ambika/Kushmandini (associated with Bhagwan Neminath)
- Chakreshwari (associated with Bhagwan Adinath)
Note:
- In Jain Dharma, primary devotion is to the Tirthankaras; Shasan‑Devis are respected as protective attendants.
- The exact Kuldevi for a Parekh family can differ by village, gotra, and family tradition.
How to confirm your own Kuldevi:
- Ask elders and check old family records (vahi/vahivat books).
- Visit your ancestral derasar; many have the Kuldevi named on plaques or in local tradition.
- Check community registers of your specific Parekh lineage or mandal.
If you share your Parekh branch (gotra) and ancestral town, your family’s Kuldevi can usually be identified from that tradition.
