Im having burning sensation and yellow vomits during fasting
I’m sorry you’re feeling this. Burning in the chest/throat and yellow vomit during fasting are warning signs. Please prioritize your health right now.
What to do immediately
- Stop the fast and do parna gently. This is not a sin in Jain Dharma when health is at risk; intention (bhava) matters more than the external tapas.
- Take small sips of warm water or oral rehydration (ORS). If available, coconut water is okay. Avoid sour/acidic drinks (like lemon) and spicy/oily foods right now.
- After fluids stay down, take something light and bland (like thin rice gruel/khichdi water). Rest.
Seek medical care today if
- Vomiting continues, is yellow/green, or you cannot keep fluids down
- There is severe chest or stomach pain, dizziness/fainting, very little urine, fever, or blood in vomit
Jain perspective
- Ahimsa includes not harming your own body. Shastras allow ending a fast when the body signals harm.
- You can continue tapas in gentler forms while you recover: alpa-bhojan, ekasana, ras-parityag (e.g., avoid fried/sweets), maun, svādhyāy, pratikraman, and meditation.
- Resume stricter fasting only with proper guidance, especially if you have acidity, ulcers, diabetes, take medications, are elderly, or pregnant.
May you regain balance and continue your sadhana safely.
