Mahaveer swami janma vanchan lyrics
“Mahaveer Janma Vanchan” literally means the sacred reading of Bhagwan Mahavir’s birth episode from the Kalpasutra (Shwetambar tradition). In temples, the exact Sanskrit/Prakrit text and its Gujarati/Hindi explanations are read from the authorized Kalpasutra pothi, which can vary slightly by gacch and sangh. Therefore, there is no single “song lyric” for Janma Vanchan itself.
However, during or around the Janma Vanchan program, devotees often sing a popular stavan describing Mata Trishalā lovingly cradling the newborn Mahavir. Its lyrics (Gujarati) are below.
Mahavir Swami Halardu (devotional stavan often sung during Janma Vanchan)
- Maataa Trishalaa jhulaave putra paarane…
- Gaave haalo haalo haalaravaanaa geeta,

- (…stavan continues up to stanza 18 as traditionally sung…)
Note:
- Shwetambar: Janma Vanchan is the formal scripture-recitation from the Kalpasutra during Paryushan; the mother’s auspicious dreams are counted as fourteen.
- Digambar: The public “Janma Vanchan” program is not a central practice; the dreams are traditionally counted as sixteen. Both traditions equally revere Bhagwan Mahavir’s Janma Kalyanak.
