In Jain Dharma, “narak ke dvār” (gates to hell) is commonly used in two ways. For clarity, both are given below.

1) Seven Narak (hell-levels) – names

• Ratna-prabha
• Sharkarā-prabha
• Vāluka-prabha
• Paṅka-prabha
• Dhūma-prabha
• Tamaḥ-prabha
• Mahā‑tamaḥ‑prabha

2) “Gates to hell” as causes leading to hellish birth (the 18 pāpa‑sthāna)

• Hiṁsā (Prāṇātīpāta) – violence
• Mṛṣāvāda – falsehood
• Adattādāna – stealing
• Abrahma/Maithuna – unchastity
• Parigraha – possessiveness/hoarding
• Krodha – anger
• Māna – pride/ego
• Māyā – deceit
• Lobha – greed
• Rāga – attachment
• Dveṣa – aversion/hatred
• Kalah – quarrelling
• Abhyākhyāna – false accusation
• Paiśunya – slander/gossip
• Rati–arati – undue liking/disliking
• Para‑parivāda – calumny/blaming others
• Māyā–mṛṣāvāda – deceitful lying/rumor‑mongering
• Mithyātva‑śalya – wrong belief

Note:

• Both Śvetāmbara and Digambara traditions accept the seven Narak names; pronunciations may vary slightly. The list of 18 pāpa‑sthāna is also standard across traditions.
