Stotra from start
Certainly! In Jainism, Stotras are devotional hymns recited to express reverence towards Tirthankaras, Arihants, Siddhas, and other revered beings. The most famous and commonly recited Jain Stotra is the Namokar Mantra (also called the Navkar Mantra or Namaskar Mantra). This is considered the most sacred mantra in Jainism and is recited at the start of prayers and rituals.
Here is the Namokar Mantra in its original Prakrit form, along with its meaning:
Namokar Mantra (Navkar Mantra):
णमो अरिहंताणं।
णमो सिद्धाणं।
णमो आयरियाणं।
णमो उवज्जायाणं।
णमो लोए सव्वसाहूणं।
Eso Panch Namokkaro,
Savva Pāvappaṇāsaṇo,
Maṅgalāṇanc Savvesim,
Paḍhamam Havai Maṅgalam.
Translation:
I bow to the Arihants (the conquerors of inner enemies).
I bow to the Siddhas (the liberated souls).
I bow to the Acharyas (the religious leaders/teachers).
I bow to the Upadhyayas (the preceptors or teachers).
I bow to all Sadhus (the monks and nuns) in the world.
This five-fold obeisance destroys all sins and is the most auspicious of all auspicious things.
If you would like stotras dedicated to specific Tirthankaras or deities (like Bhaktamar Stotra for Lord Adinath, Uvasaggaharam Stotra for Lord Parshvanath, etc.), please specify, and I can provide those as well.
