Akshaya Nidhi (Akshaya = inexhaustible, Nidhi = treasure/fund) in the Jain community usually means a permanent endowment created for dharmic work. The principal amount is kept intact forever, and only the income/interest is used for purposes like:

• temple and derasar upkeep
• pathshala and religious education
• aahar/annakshetra and other seva
• festivals, publications, and similar Jain activities

It is a community-practice term, not a technical sutra word. The idea reflects Jain values of daan (charity) and aparigraha (limiting possessions) by making wealth serve Dharma continuously. This usage is common across both Śvetāmbara and Digambara traditions, without a doctrinal difference.

Note: Do not confuse Akshaya Nidhi with “Akshaya Patra” (an inexhaustible vessel) or “Nava Nidhi” (nine treasures) mentioned in broader Indian traditions.
