According to Jain tradition, Adinath, also known as Rishabhanatha, is regarded as the first Tirthankara of the current time cycle. Jain scriptures state that Adinath himself established the Jain faith in this era. Jainism does not describe Adinath as following any other religion prior to Jainism; rather, he is considered the originator of the Jain teachings for this time cycle. Therefore, from the Jain perspective, Adinath did not follow any other religion before Jainism.
