When Era of adinath bhagwan started
In Jainism, Adinath Bhagwan, also known as Rishabhanatha, is considered the first Tirthankara of the present Avasarpini (descending half cycle of time). According to Jain cosmology, time is cyclical and divided into two halves: Utsarpini (ascending) and Avasarpini (descending). Each half-cycle lasts for an immense period, and each half has 24 Tirthankaras.
The era of Adinath Bhagwan began at the very start of the current Avasarpini. Jain scriptures describe this time as being millions of years ago—so ancient that it is beyond precise human calculation. According to Jain texts like the "Kalpa Sūtra" and "Ādi Purāṇa," Rishabhanatha lived in an age when human beings were extremely tall, lived for thousands of years, and the world was in its most prosperous and happy state (Sukhamā-sukhamā period).
While Jainism does not assign a specific date in the Gregorian calendar to the era of Adinath Bhagwan, it is universally accepted in Jain tradition that his era marks the beginning of the current time cycle, and he is revered as the first Tirthankara who established the basic codes of civilization and religion for humanity.
