Will I get more paap then normal if I do paap in paryushan
Short answer: Yes, if you commit paap (wrong actions) during Paryushan, you still accumulate paap. There is no special exemption or multiplier that makes paap worse just because it is Paryushan.
What Paryushan does is this:
- It is a highly auspicious time to reflect, repent, and reduce existing karmic bondage.
- Practices like prasna (confession), pratikraman (wishing to undo wrongs), samayik (meditation for a set time), and vows (upavasa, vrata) help reduce future paap and gradually burn off past paap.
- The key is intention and effort: sincere repentance and adherence to vows during these days lessen the net karmic binding over time.
Digambar and Shwetambar traditions both teach that karma binds through intentional wrong actions, but they may differ in specific rituals or phrasing of repentance. In any case, Paryushan is a time to purify, not a loophole to avoid the consequences of misdeeds.
