Did Mahaveer swami ever met Gautam Buddha
According to Jainism, there is no historical or scriptural evidence that Bhagwan Mahavira (the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism) ever met Gautam Buddha (the founder of Buddhism). Both Mahavira and Buddha were contemporaries and lived during the same period in ancient India (around the 6th century BCE). However, Jain scriptures do not mention any meeting or direct interaction between the two.
Jain texts do acknowledge that various philosophical schools existed during Mahavira’s time, and there were many teachers and seekers of truth, but they do not record a meeting between Mahavira and Buddha. Each tradition has its own distinct teachings, practices, and scriptures.
In summary, according to Jainism, there is no record or tradition that suggests Mahavira and Buddha met in person.
