Ambalal Muljibhai Patel, popularly known as Dadashri or Dada Bhagwan, was a Gujarati Jain spiritual teacher. Born on 7 November 1908 in Tarsali near Baroda, he was a civil contractor by profession who later became a Gnani Purush and founded the Akram Vignan (a path to Self-Realization). He attained self-realization spontaneously in 1958 at Surat and subsequently taught a practical, experiential form of Jain spiritual guidance that attracted followers in India and abroad. He passed away on 2 January 1988.
