Name of 10 days
If by “10 days” you mean the Paryushan period observed by Digambar Jains, it is called Das Lakshan Parva and lasts 10 days. Each day is dedicated to one of the ten supreme virtues (das lakshan). Here are the ten days and their focus:
1) Uttam Kshama – supreme forgiveness 2) Uttam Mardava – supreme humility 3) Uttam Arjava – supreme straight-forwardness/honesty 4) Uttam Shaucha – supreme purity 5) Uttam Satya – supreme truth 6) Uttam Sanyam – supreme self-restraint 7) Uttam Tap – supreme austerity 8) Uttam Tyag – supreme renunciation 9) Uttam Akinchanya – supreme non-attachment 10) Uttam Brahmacharya – supreme celibacy/chastity
Note: Shwetambar Jains generally observe an 8-day Paryushan, with the last day being Samvatsari (the day of forgiveness). Digambar Jains observe the full 10 days as Das Lakshan Parva. The practices include fasting, prayers, reading scriptures, and daily prayers for forgiveness and self-purification.
