Shloka (uttam mardav): उत्तमणाणपहाणो उत्तम तव परण करण सीलोवि । अप्याणं जो ही लदि मद्दव रयण भवे तस्स ।

• This verse describes Uttam Mardav ( supreme humility ). It says: even if someone has great knowledge and is powerful or noble, if they do not let pride and ego arise, and they conduct themselves with gentleness, modesty, and proper conduct, that is true Uttam Mardav.
• In short: true humility is the natural, inner temperament of a wise and capable person; pride spoils it.

• This shloka is part of the Das Lakshan (Dashalakshana) teachings, which Digambar Jains study during the Dash Lakshan Parva. Textual phrasing can vary slightly between Digambar and Shvetambar recensions, but the core teaching—supreme humility (uttam mardav)—remains alike.
