How many lokas
In Jainism, the universe (Loka) is described as three main realms, called the three lokas:
- Urdhva Loka (upper world) – the heavens or divine realms.
- Madhya Loka (middle world) – where humans, animals, and plants reside.
- Adho Loka (lower world) – the hellish realms.
Additionally, at the very top of the upper world is Siddhashila, the realm of liberated souls (siddhas). So, in the common cosmology you have three lokas, with Siddhashila as the pinnacle above them. Some texts also discuss the finer divisions within these three lokas (the 14 Rajlok), but the basic framework most often taught is the three lokas plus Siddhashila.
