Navkarvali (Navkar mala) is traditionally a 108-bead rosary used when reciting the Navkar Mantra. The 108 beads help the devotee keep count and focus, and they symbolize the completeness and sacredness of the practice. In many Jain explanations, the 108 beads also reflect the layer of virtues or qualities associated with the Panch Parmesthi (Arihants, Siddhas, Acharyas, Upadhyayas, and Sadhus), guiding one through the essential aspects of Jain path as a complete, unified practice.
