    Stuti for dhoop puja

    12 months ago 134

In Jainism there isn’t a fixed “stuti for dhoop puja” per se. Dhoop (incense) is not a standard, separate liturgical rite in Jain practice. If you want a devotional stuti to accompany a simple offering or puja, you can recite Jain stutis that praise the Tirthankaras and the path to liberation. A commonly used option is the Navkar Mantra (Namokar Mantra), which is the core prayer in Jain worship and can be recited with devotion during any puja, including needs for a serene atmosphere.

Original (Navkar Mantra opening lines): Namo Arihantanam Namo Siddhhanam Namo Ayariyanam Namo Uvajhyanam Namo Loe Savva-sahunam Arihantanam Siddhananam Ayariyanam Uvajhyanam Loe Savva-sahunam

    Meaning (arth) in brief:

    • Namo Arihantanam: I bow to the Arihants (omniscient beings who have conquered inner passions).
    • Namo Siddhhanam: I bow to the Siddhas (liberated souls).
    • Namo Ayariyanam: I bow to the Acharyas (spiritual teachers) who lead souls.
    • Namo Uvajhyanam: I bow to the Upadhyays (preceptors) who impart sacred knowledge.
    • Namo Loe Savva-sahunam: I bow to all the divine beings who protect all beings.
    • The rest repeats the same with regional/formal variations.

    Notes:

    • If you prefer a more temple-like stuti specific to Mahavira or a particular Tirthankara, you can recite short, respectful stutis like “Shri Mahavira Swami Stuti” or similar prayers, but ensure they align with Jain tradition and intention.
    • The key is to keep the focus on reverence for the Tirthankaras, the path (Dharma), and the aspiration for liberation.
