• In the Śvētāmbara tradition, Mahavir Janma Vanchan (the reading of Mahavir’s birth) is observed on the 5th day (Pañcami) of Paryushan Parva.
• In the Digambara tradition, there is no Janma Vanchan during Paryushan; they focus on Das-Lakshan (the ten virtues) instead.
