A Shravak (lay follower) observes five vows daily. These are the five anuvratas:

• Ahimsa (non-violence)
• Satya (truth)
• Asteya (non-stealing)
• Brahmacharya (celibacy in daily conduct / sexual restraint)
• Aparigraha (non-attachment / non-possession)

Note: In different Jain traditions (Digambara vs. Śvetāmbara) there can be slight emphasis or wording differences, but the core set of five anuvratas remains the standard for lay followers.
