What is more important in life to become a successful person or to become a contentful person

    yesterday

According to Jainism, the ultimate goal of life is not worldly success but inner peace, self-realization, and liberation (moksha). Jain teachings emphasize the importance of contentment (santosh) over material success. Worldly achievements are seen as temporary and may often lead to further desires and attachments, which bind the soul to the cycle of birth and death (samsara).

Contentment arises from practicing right faith (samyak darshan), right knowledge (samyak jnana), and right conduct (samyak charitra). By reducing desires, practicing non-attachment (aparigraha), and following the path of ahimsa (non-violence), one achieves true happiness and peace.

Therefore, according to Jain philosophy, it is more important to become a contentful person than just a successful person in worldly terms. Contentment leads to spiritual progress and ultimately to liberation.
