Bhadarva Sud Poonam is the full moon day in the Bhadarva (Bhadrapad) month. In Jain practice this date is connected with the Dash Lakshan Parva (the ten-virtue festival) observed mainly by Digambar Jains: the festival runs from the fifth day to the fourteenth day of the bright half of Bhadarva (Bhadarva Sud 5–14). The Poonam (full moon) day falls within that period and is part of the sequence of days during which the ten virtues are reflected upon and practiced. In Shwetambar tradition, Paryushan Parva is the major annual festival (eight days) culminating in Samvatsari; while the Digambar tradition frames a similar period as Dash Lakshana Parva (ten days), with Kshamavani at the end.
