Solid food that i can eat after atthai parna
Parna (parṇa) after athai (athāi) is usually begun softly with light, sattvic foods and then gradually moved to a regular Jain meal. Here’s a simple, common approach followed in many Jain traditions:
- First, break with something light: a small piece of fruit (like banana or dates) or a small glass of warm milk.
- Then move to a light, root-vegetable–free solid meal:
- As you continue, eat slowly and keep portions small. Avoid heavy, fried, spicy, sour, or very oily foods.
- Later in the day, you can have a slightly more substantial but still simple meal, always avoiding onion/garlic and root vegetables if your observance requires.
Note:
- Both Digambar and Shwetambar traditions emphasize ahimsa, simplicity, and gradual reintroduction of food after parṇa; local practices may vary a little, so follow your guru or sangh guidance.
