Day 5 of Das Lakshan is Uttam Satya — Supreme Truth.

Quote (Day 5 related teaching): "If talking is not required, then do not talk. If it is required then only use the minimum of words, and all must all be absolutely true. Talking disturbs the stillness of the mind. Lying leads to an influx of paap karma."

Meaning (arth):

• Truthfulness (satya) is a key virtue for the soul. Speech should be true, necessary, and beneficial.
• One should speak only the amount that is needed, and only when it will help or harm none.
• Truth should come with right knowledge and right faith, and with a pure intention toward harmlessness.

Notes on tradition:

• Uttam Satya is emphasized as a supreme form of truth in the Digambar Das Lakshan framework. Both Digambar and Śvetāmbara traditions honor truthfulness, but the way it is practiced and taught within the Das Lakshan Parva can have tradition-specific nuances.
