The stone inscriptions found in this temple reveal its antiquity as a period before Vikram year 1348. The ancient Presiding Deity here it is learnt from one inscription, was Sri Adhishvar Bhagwan. It is probable that at the time of renovations, the idol of Sri Shanthinath Bhagwan may have been ceremonially installed but no such inscriptions is found. When the last renovations were carried out in Vikram year 2006, the idol of Sri Parshwanath Bhagwan was ceremonially installed and consecrated at the hands of Acharya Sri Vijaynendrasurishvarji which idol is at present a the Presiding Deity of the temple.The seat of the Srupujyas of the “Kamalkalash” branch of Tapagachchha is here, it is believed to be a branch of the seat of Patan.Every year on Vaishakh Sukla 10, a flag hoisted here on the temple dome.In the nearby garden there are some single room shrines where foot prints of ancestral Yatis of Shripujya Shri Mahendrasuriji are enshrinesd.
