Kalikunds Adhisthayak Dev

A story of Elephant that born in Forest but apart from living haphazard life and who became a Adhisthayak Dev of Kalikund Tirth is also another example of the case that we are talking about.

In previous birth it was elephant named Vamankay and because it was short in the height the other elephants in the community used to abused it by calling tinguji. Because of this he decided to commit suicide but by coming in the contact with Jain Saint he met Saintism and undertook great fasting but because of lack of knowledge it decided the prolific that if there is any great fruit for this great fasting than it shall result in Great Body in next birth and because of doing that in next born it once again became elephant of great body and great strength and stayed and enjoyed the living in forest of the Kadambari Forest.

One day 23rd Almighty Shri Parshvanath Prabhu came in that forest. And they got themselves in Kausag near Kali mountain and Kund Lake. At that time this elephant came there and by looking towards Lord he went in past peeping in its past births (“Jatismaran Gyan”) by this it changed it life style and commenced worshipping Lord with flowers. After some time Lord went away from the forest and then after to worship Lord Parshvanath and when it came to hear that Shri Lord is coming to Champanagari, ruled by King Dadhivahan, it came for worship but he felt failure when it came to know that Lord has not yet arrived but then also in remembrance of Lord Shri Parshvanath it created a Temple at the place where Lord remained stand in which it installed Padmasanasth Statue of Lord Parshvanath.

At same place where temple was built elephant started worshipping Statue of Lord with flowers and this became its routine in which he continuously added its feelings. By doing this way an innocent elephant died and became Dev and because of Worship and area love he became Adhisthayak Dev of Shri Kalikund Tirth.
