Shayyambhavacharya

Shri Prabhavswami, a devoted disciple of Jambuswami, was aging and concerned about finding a worthy successor to lead the congregation. He discovered Shayyambhav Bhatt, a learned Brahmin performing a violent animal sacrifice ritual. Prabhavswami's monks confronted Shayyambhav, questioning the truth amidst the violence. Intrigued, Shayyambhav sought the monks and learned about Jainism from Prabhavswami. He embraced the path of a sadhu at twenty-eight, renouncing everything and acquiring deep knowledge under Prabhavswami's guidance.

Shayyambhav's son, Manak, eager to see his father, accepted initiation after meeting Shayyambhav. However, it was foreseen that Manak had a short life, so Shayyambhav arranged for him to study the Dashvaikalik sutras for spiritual well-being. These sutras are now revered in Jainism.

Shayyambhavsuri preached as a respected spiritual leader for 23 years, bringing glory to Jainism. He had a past life experience with the Brahmin community, helping them understand the spiritual significance of yajna and inspiring many to embrace Jain principles.
