The historical roots of Jainism in Gujarat run deep, with a substantial Jain population residing here. The state boasts some of the holiest Jain temples, such as Shatrunjay Mahatirth, Girnar Tirth, and Sankheswar Tirth. Many Jain pilgrimage centers are scattered throughout Gujarat. An inscription of V.S. 1527 is found on the Mulnayak Shri Sambhavnath Bhagwan's idol, while the idol of Mulnayak Shri Shantinath Bhagwan on the top floor bears an inscription of V.S. 1670. This suggests that the temple is over 500 years old. The temple underwent renovation in V.S. 2020, and the idols were re-installed on the 10th day of the bright half of the month of Shravan in V.S. 2021, conducted by Acharya Shri Jambusurishvarji.
