This city has a rich history, and its temple is believed to date back to the 15th century of the Vikram era. Acharya Somsundarsurishvarji, a renowned astrologer in the Jain religion, played a significant role in the temple's establishment. Influenced by the spiritual discourses of Acharya Somsundarsurishvarji, Shresthi Gopal decided to construct a temple in his hometown of Mota Posina. Upon the completion of this splendid temple, Gopal's wife and daughter ceremonially installed the idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath under the divine guidance of Acharya Shri Somsundarsurishvarji in V.S. 1477.
During the installation ceremony, an unforeseen calamity occurred as a sudden fire broke out, causing fear that the newly built temple would be consumed. However, a remarkable miracle unfolded—the fire spontaneously extinguished itself without causing any damage. Witnessing this miraculous event, astonished onlookers began referring to this Parshvanath as "Vighnapahaar Parshvanath," signifying the deity who removes obstacles. Another name for this deity is "Vighnahara Parshvanath." In V.S. 1481, another small temple was constructed within the temple complex by Shresthi Mandan, and in V.S. 1491, Shresthi Arjun had an idol of Bhagwan Adinath installed under the revered hands of Acharya Somsundarsurishvarji. An annual flag-raising ceremony is held in this temple on the 11th day of the dark half of the month of Jeth.
In addition to the main temple, there are four other temples within the vicinity, each demonstrating its own historical significance. For instance, in the temple dedicated to Shantinath Bhagwan, the idol bears the date V.S. 1281, while the Neminath temple's idol is dated to V.S. 1888. The temple of Mahaveer Swami houses Kshetrapalji, an idol renowned for its miraculous attributes. The temples' antiquity is underscored by the fact that Acharya Shri Vijaydevsuriji oversaw their renovations in the 17th century.
As for the works of art and sculpture in this sacred location, it is indeed ancient, with the temple being a testament to its history. The temple is characterized by its captivating beauty and intricate artistry. The idol within is considered miraculous and inspiring, further enhancing the temple's spiritual ambiance. The surrounding landscape boasts lush trees and scenic hills, contributing to the temple's splendid and picturesque appearance.
